From 16 to 25 January 2026, 23 yogis embarked on ten days of intensive retreat at Wisdom Park under the guidance of Venerable Gavesi. The retreat focused on the systematic cultivation of Vipassanā through sustained and continuous mindfulness.
The retreat schedule was designed to support physical and mental seclusion (viveka), creating conditions conducive to intensive practice. Daily practice consisted of sitting and walking meditation, complemented by mindful awareness during all routine activities such as eating, bathing, and cleaning. Group interviews and regular teachings also provided participants with essential guidance and clarification.
In his teachings, Ven. Gavesi emphasised that the yogi’s primary duty is to arouse and maintain continuity of mindfulness, which forms the basis for understanding and overcoming the dukkha of body and mind. He guided them in observing meditation objects of body, feelings, mind and hindrances directly and clearly without reliance on conceptual thinking or intellectual analysis.
We express our gratitude to Ven. Gavesi for this teachings and skillful guidance throughout this retreat. Sādhu anumodāna to the participants for embarking on this spiritual development as well as to the organisers and volunteers who supported the yogis.
