Joyful visit by friends from Seck Kia Eenh

On 19 and 20 April, Nalanda members and volunteers hosted 44 members of Seck Kia Eenh (SKE), Melaka who was journeying the greater Klang Valley to visit a few Dhamma communities. This short but fruitful trip was led by SKE’s President Bro. Tan Kim See and members of SKE’s Board of Management.

Undergraduates learn & connect at stay-in programme

From Saturday 29 March to Tuesday 1 April, over 50 youths and volunteers dedicated the long holiday-weekend to Dhamma learning and service at the Undergraduates Stay-in Programme in Wisdom Park, organised by Nalanda Youth Centre. The students explored the theme ‘Path of Togetherness’ as they developed stronger bonds of friendship and the beginnings of a peer community.

Family Dhamma School Outing to Wisdom Park

On Saturday 22 March, the Family Dhamma School in Kuala Lumpur held its school session in Wisdom Park as their first outing in 2025. A total of 65 members of the School started the day with meditation and devotional chanting, joined by youths and volunteers. Everyone enjoyed the outdoors as fathers and teenagers planted trees, while mothers led the younger children to carefully propagate small and fragile shrubs.

Insightful meditation retreat with Ven. Gavesi

From 14 – 23 February, 30 yogis embarked on ten days of intensive retreat under the guidance of Ven. Gavesi. They learnt to cultivate serenity and insight under the Mahasi tradition with daily teachings by Ven. Gavesi, extended sitting and walking meditation sessions, mindful eating, and group interviews with Venerable.

Hosting BGF meditation retreat with Ven. Ajahn Brahmavamso

From 21 to 28 December, Nalanda hosted Buddhist Gem Fellowship (BGF) at Wisdom Park for a meditation retreat conducted by the famed Ven. Ajahn Brahmavamso. It was Venerable’s maiden visit to Wisdom Park and he expressed his joy at the growth of Nalanda’s educational mission and community.

Buddhadhamma Foundation retreat led by Luang Por Viradhammo

Just this morning, we sent off Ven. Luang Por Viradhammo and 34 yogis after the completion of the Meditation Retreat organised by Buddhadhamma Foundation (BDF), Singapore. The 8-day retreat at Wisdom Park was held from Saturday 30 November to Sunday 8 December, and hosted by Nalanda members and volunteers who offered the facilities there as well as their service.

Youth leaders & core members fuel-up for 2025

2024 has been a very spirited and fruitful year for Nalanda Youth Centre, filled with many learning, service, outreach, and leadership programmes that left a deep positive impact on the community and everyone's personal growth. After a year of dedication, 25 leaders and core members of Nalanda Youth Centre gathered at Wisdom Park from 31 October to 2 November for the annual Fuel-Up Camp to reflect on how the youths have worked together for the year, realign values, principles and culture, and recharge for the year ahead.

Uplifting retreat for Dhamma School facilitators

From 31 October to 2 November, Nalanda Dhamma School facilitators from Serdang, Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru schools gathered at Wisdom Park for a rejuvenating retreat. Centred around the theme of “Mindful and Purposeful Living”, this annual retreat offered facilitators an opportunity to deepen their Dhamma practice and strengthen their skills as compassionate and competent educators.
