Today marks the 61st anniversary of the formation of ‘Malaysia’ – a federation of 13 states spanning the Malay Peninsula, Sarawak, and Sabah. To commemorate this occasion, over 80 youths at the Dhamma-living Camp raised the ‘Jalur Gemilang’ early this morning reflecting on how our part in nation-building is first through our owncharacter-building by inculcating gratitude, compassion and peace within.

From 24 to 25 August, over 80 participants, facilitators and volunteers joined the BPS 307 (Certificate in Buddhist Studies) Experiential Learning Camp at Wisdom Park. Having completed 10 lectures which include self-reflection and assignments, participants were ready to learn how they can apply Dhamma practices in a sustained and systematic manner in their everyday lives.

From 7 to 11 August, Nalanda hosted the DAYWA Meditation Retreat conducted by Sis Sylvia Bay and Bro. Ong Chye Chye. Organised by Dhamma Assembly for Young Working Adults (DAYWA), over 50 youths relished the opportunity to enhance their understanding of the Dhamma path and meditation.

From 5 to 7 July, Nalanda Youth Centre welcomed friends from DAYWA (Dhamma Assembly for Young Working Adults - Singapore) to visit Nalanda and Wisdom Park. They are the organising committee for the upcoming August meditation retreat, and specially arranged this 'reconnaissance' trip to prepare for the retreat whilst also joining the learning programmes at Nalanda Centre.

From Friday 14 June to Monday 17 June, Wisdom Park hosted Zest Connection and Staying Alive, social enterprises of mindfulness practitioners and facilitators, for their Meditation Retreat conducted by Ayasma Aggacitta. Over 40 retreatants and volunteers spent this holiday weekend in the quiet and serene educational campus, enveloped in Dhamma learning, practice and service.

From 7 to 9 June, Nalanda members hosted 17 youths from Singapore Buddhist Mission (SBM) on their overseas service trip to Kuala Lumpur. SBM Youth is a fellowship of young and vibrant Buddhists and focuses it activities on balancing spiritual pursuits with youthful living.
